This plenum rated (CMP) Siamese cable is most commonly used for security camera installations where cables are ran directly in plenum air flow spaces. A plenum rated CCTV cables feature a special jacket that meets specific building code requirements to be flame retardant and have low smoke production. This plenum Siamese cable is an RG59 coaxial cable that has a 20 AWG solid center conductor and a 95% copper braid, with a stranded 18 gauge 2 conductor power cable. Both cables are attached together to create one easy to pull and manage cable. The RG59 coaxial cable will support the video signal between the security cameras and a security DVR (Digital Video Recorder), with the 18/2 responsible for delivering the power from a CCTV power source to the security cameras.

When terminating connectors onto plenum rated RG59 coaxial cable it is important to choose the right BNC connectors for the job! The cable jacket of a plenum rated RG59 cable is not the same size as the non-plenum version.
