1904-1-001-01 - Kendall Howard 20" Fixed Rack Shelf
The Kendall Howard 1904-1-001-01 is a low profile 20" deep fixed rack shelf. It is designed for use with 4-post equipment racks. All 4 corners of the shelf have holes used to attach it to the 4-posts of a rack using rack screws. The 1904-1-001-01 only talks up 1 rack mount space, and with a 300 pound capacity it is ideal for supporting large servers, UPS backup equipment, switches, and any other large non-rackmountable components used in an equipment rack environment. Once you attach the shelf to your rack, you can then start stacking equipment directly on it. The installation of the 1904-1-001-01 is fast and easy!
The 1904-1-001-01 features a unique design that allows it to mount in the bottom of a U space. This design saves rack space while continuing to provide the support needed for your equipment. It is 19”EIA compliant and is made with cold steel with a powder coated finish to ensure long lasting use.
The Kendall Howard 1904-1-001-01 Shelf does not include mounting screws. Evaluate the screw size and types that your rack or equipment cabinet requires and buy the right screws for the installation.

Why doesn’t the 1904-1-001-01 shelf include rack screws?
Not all racks accept the same screws. Some take a particular size and/or type of screws. Some may also only accept cage nuts. So it only makes sense for you to buy the screws that work with the type of rack you buy. Always read the specifications of the rack you choose so you can learn the type and size of screws it accepts for mounting rack shelves and other rack mountable equipment.
Is the surface of the 1904-1-001-01 flat or does it have a lip?
It can be installed either way. One side has a lip and the opposite side will have rounded edges. You have the flexibility to install the shelf any way you choose. Often the non-lipped flat side is installations where the equipment is a little deeper than the shelf. If you equipment fits within the dimensions of the rack the lip on the outer edge of the shelf will help ensure that equipment does not slide off the shelf when being worked on or relocated.
Do I need any special tools to mount this shelf to my rack?
For a successful installation all you need is rack screws and a screw driver. It takes only 4 screws. One at each corner. Installing this shelf should be done in just a matter of minutes.
